Rates include unlimited mileage, Third Party Insurance, Standard Collision Damage waiver, Standard Theft Loss Waiver, VAT@ 14%, Licence & Fees, Road Tax, Tourism Levy, Airport Surcharges, Mobile Phone rental (excluding insurance of 4 rands per day & calls), National & Regional maps and a Booklet of Useful Information.

Important - Please note: A valid credit card must be presented, along with a voucher and driving licence, as a security deposit. Cash deposits will NOT be accepted.

In the event of a collision or theft occurring during the period of hire, the following Insurance Excess will apply.

Premium Super Cover - All car groups 4000 South African Rands.
Standard Cover - All car groups 11000 South African Rands.

Please Note: Under South African law, all accidents must be reported to the nearest police station within 24 hours of the accident taking place.

All Car groups - Minimum 23 years of age.
Drivers under 25 years of age must pay a local surcharge of 50 S.A. Rands + tax per day.

All drivers must present a valid British driving licence, or national driving licence with an English translation, and their passport prior to a rental.

Delivery and collection of a vehicle is available on a request basis and a fee of 3.50 rands + tax per KM each way is charged locally for delivery within office hours. (Min Charge R100)
Outside of office hours is charged at 3.50 rands + tax per KM each way. (Min Charge R200)

Tax = 14%

24-hour breakdown service is included in our rates, although any towing charges will be the responsibility of the renter.

This service is referred to as Medical Rescue International and includes:

Baby Seats 100 Rands per rental + tax.
Infant Seats 100 Rands per rental + tax.

Additional drivers of valid age charged locally at 100 Rands per rental + tax.

International one way rentals are not permitted.

Domestic one way rentals, where the distance between the pick-up & drop-off locations is more than 150 kilometres, will be charged locally 500 Rands + Tax.

Cars may be allowed into certain other countries by prior arrangement with Budget South Africa. It is the responsibility of the Renter to inform the rental depot of their intention to cross a border during the period of hire.

Cars are supplied with a full tank of fuel and must be returned with a full tank of fuel. Failure to comply with this condition may result in a service charge in addition to fuel charges.

Please Note: During the period of the hire fuel can only be purchased using cash. Bank credit cards are usually not accepted at regional Petrol Stations.

Drive on the left-hand side of the road, maximum speed is 60km/h in urban areas, 80/100km/h on national roads and 120km/h on freeways. Seat belts are compulsory for all vehicle occupants and Drink Driving law applies. Strict and substantial fines or even imprisonment are imposed for non-compliance. Insurance is invalid if drivers exceed the legal alcohol limit.

A valid credit card only will be accepted as security in order to collect a hire vehicle. Cash or Charge card deposits will not be accepted.

A charge of £25.00GBP may apply in the event of any amendment or cancellation of any confirmed reservation.
