All drivers must be a minimum age of 21 years and have held a full and valid licence for at least one year.

The minimum rental period for both round trip and one way rentals is 3 consecutive days.

Multi-island hire is possible with a minimum of 3 days per hire and the continuous hire rate applies if second vehicle is collected within 24 hours.

There is no need to book the car on the inter-island ferry as Budget has locations at both Wellington and Picton.

A fuel bond of 100NZ$ is required on pick-up and refunded if vehicle is in good order and with a full tank of fuel. In the event of an accident, an insurance excess applies of 1500NZ$, which can be reduced down to NZ$ 150 with Budget Protection Plan at 15NZ$ per day. for NZ$8.50 per day.

A premium location surcharge of 15NZ$ applies to all airport and ferry terminal depots.

A valid credit card only will be accepted as security in order to collect a hire vehicle. Cash or Charge card deposits will not be accepted.

A charge of £25.00GBP may apply in the event of any amendment or cancellation of any confirmed reservation.
