The following conditions apply when renting a Budget vehicle in Australia:

Age Restrictions
All drivers must be over 21 years of age for Passenger Cars & Minivans, 25 years of age for Four Wheel Drive Vehicles.
Specific Insurance conditions apply to renters between 21 - 24 years of age.
All drivers must hold a valid National driving licence and have done do for at least one full year prior to a rental. An international driving licence is not required, but is recommended.
Insurance Excesses
Collision Damage and Theft Insurance
In the event of collision occurring with another vehicle, or theft of the vehicle during the period of hire, the following Insurance Excess will apply.

Delivery & Collection
Delivery and collection to the renter's hotel, within a 15km radius of the rental depot, is available free of charge on Cars & Minivans. Please note that deliveries must be pre-booked at the time of reservation, and are only available Monday to Friday between 08.30 & 16.30hrs.

24-hour breakdown service is included in our rates.
Special Equipment
Baby / Child seats are available for infants aged 6 months to 3 years at a cost of AUD$5.50 per day (max of AUD$33.00) paid locally in Australia. Baby capsules for infants aged 1 - 6 months are not available but privately owned seats may be used.
Additional Drivers
There is no charge for additional drivers, but they must present their full drivers licence when collecting the rental vehicle at the start of the hire.
Cross Border Traffic
Vehicle categories Intermediate and above are permitted to travel between all mainland, State & Territory boundaries. Vehicles hired within Tasmania cannot leave the state, and vehicles hired in other states cannot be driven into Tasmania.
Road Rules
Drive on the left-hand side of the road, maximum speed is 50km/h in cities and towns and 110km/h on country highways, unless signs indicate otherwise. Seat belts are compulsory and Drink Driving law applies. Insurance is invalid if drivers exceed the legal alcohol limit.
Only the Toyota Landcruiser sized vehicles are permitted for use in the following areas
Karagini National Park,
Mill Stream National Park,
Hamersley Access Rd to Wittenoom Gorge and the surrounding gorges,
Robe River access Rd,
Burrup Peninsular,
Gibb River Rd, Cape Leveque Road or Bungle Bungle National Park in the Kimberley.
Northern Territory Wet Season
All roads to Jimm Jimm Falls & the Twin Falls (both located at Kakadu National Park) are closed during the wet season (1st Dec through to 1st June) No cars or 4WD's are allowed into this area during this period.
Night Driving
In the interest of customer safety, Budget restricts the use of vehicles outside the city limits in the Northern Territory, Western Australia and Queensland. The risk of collision with Kangaroo's and other wildlife presents a genuine driving hazard during nighttime hours. An additional, AUD$5,000 insurance excess applies to damage caused under these circumstances.
Refuelling Charges
Cars are supplied with a full tank of fuel and must be returned with a full tank of fuel. Failure to comply with this condition may result in a service charge in addition to fuel charges.
Fuel in Australia is supplied in both leaded and unleaded grades and costs between AUD$0.90 cents and AUD$1.30 per litre. Prices for fuel are usually higher in country areas, and substantially higher in Western Australia and Northern territory.

Cheap Car hire in Cairns - Payment
A valid credit card only will be accepted as security in order to collect a hire vehicle. Cash or Charge card deposits will not be accepted.
Amendments & Cancellations
A charge of £25.00GBP may apply in the event of any amendment or cancellation of any confirmed reservation.
